The other day, I was cleaning up my desk and found a piece of paper stuffed between two books. I had scribbled “Read every week” at the top of the tattered note. At some point, I must’ve printed out the advice Michael Hastings gave to young journalists. Though his words mean something different to me now, I know what a profound effect his advice had on me when I worked at the student newspaper. It’s worth re-posting, no matter if you’re a journalist or not. Hastings gives us a call to do something a little greater – to find our passion. And to work to honor that passion every day.
